LS 4.0 Barbell/Oil Diverter, Front Galley Plug, ByPass Delete & Pickup Tube Hold Down
The oil galley oil diverter Barbell in your Gen III & IV LS based engine is something that is overlooked. And yet it serves a very important mission of directing oil to the oil filter. If oil leaks past the Barbell, it will go unfiltered directly to the Cam Bearing, Lifters, Crank and Rod Bearings. The factory Barbell is approximately .020” smaller than the oil gallery, so particles as big as 250 microns can leak past the factory Barbell. Your oil filter will filter out approximately 25 Microns depending on the brand of filter. As the original inventor of the Aluminum Precision fit Barbell, we are always striving to make improvements. Our latest 4.0 update has, as with our previous versions, we use 7075 Aluminum unlike our competitors that are using 6061. Our 4.0 Barbell has a wider sealing area on the front of it, eliminating the need for an unreliable Oring. During our prototyping we tried an Oring on the front and when installing it, the Oring was getting sliced and chipped on the sharp internal oil ports and left Oring remnants that could have gotten in the lifters and bearings.

That’s probably why GM didn’t put an Oring on the factory Barbell.
Our Precision Billet Barbell fits with approximately .001” clearance which might only let 20-25 Microns pass by, that is the same or less than the oil filter. Another important part is the shaft of the Barbell. The oil must flow around it to get through to the oil port. Our latest design 4.0 Barbell has a 30% smaller shaft plus a more tapered design for much less flow restriction. We have also added a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the end of our Barbell for easy removal. Just screw a 1/4-20 bolt in and pull the barbell out. No more digging and prying to get the factory one out.

Better engine protection from much less and smaller particles bypassing, smaller less restrictive shaft for better oil flow, replaceable High Temperature Viton O ring and for ease of service a threaded 1/4-20 hole.  Why would you ever put the plastic factory Barbell back in your expensive Gen III & IV LS engine and let unfiltered oil in?  Our Precision LS Billet Barbell 4.0 Stops Unfiltered Oil & Increases Flow!

LS Billet Oil Bypass Delete
Keep unfiltered oil out of your engine by plugging off the oil bypass check valve. The factory bypass check valve can let unfiltered oil into your engine’s bearings and lifters when there are quick oil pressure fluctuations. Our Billet Bypass delete plug replaces the factory check valve helping to prevent unfiltered oil from entering critical engine parts.  The factory bypass check valve is a safety in case the oil filter gets restricted. Most oil filters already have a bypass built into them for this reason.  Install one of our Bypass Deletes the next time you change your oil filter for better engine protection from less particles bypassing. It has a replaceable High Temperature Viton O ring and for ease of service a threaded 1/4-20 hole for easy removal. Just screw a 1/4-20 bolt in and pull the delete out if ever necessary. Why would you ever let unfiltered oil into your expensive LS engine?  Make sure your check valve is located in where the filter screws on to make sure our Delete will work for your application. Reusable Front Oil Gallery Plug
Unlike the factory plug, this Billet Front Oil Gallery Plug uses a High Temperature Viton O ring to create the seal and is reusable. It is also easy to remove and install, unlike the factory plug. Use the threaded hole and ¼-20 bolt to pull it out. This Billet plug is great for the racers that tear their engines down for inspections.

Gen III & IV LS Oil Pickup Tube Hold Down (PTHD)
SacCityCorvette has a small item that will improve the reliability and sealing of the O-ring on the oil pump pickup tube which has been known to leak causing low oil pressure and oil starvation. To be sure your oil tube sits flush on the oil pump so the O-ring can do its job, install one our PTHD's (Pickup Tube Hold Down) It's easy to install, uses the existing extra hole on the oil pump, it's inexpensive and can help save a lot of time and a big headache and possibly your engine.  

The kit comes with the PTHD and a 10.9 high grade bolt. We recommend using Blue Loctite #242 when installing bolts.
